Nomad Greenland

Remarkable landscapes, exceptional wildlife, iceberg-choked fjords and colorful tundra are among the unique traits that make Greenland a destination unlike any other. Maybe you’ve heard the buzz… it’s certainly become a more popular place to visit in recent years, especially since Lonely Planet declared Greenland one of the Top 10 Countries to Visit in its ‘Best in Travel’ series..

Still, it’s so far off the beaten path–so vast and remote–that even today, exploring Greenland is reminiscent of the spirit of exploration of centuries gone by.

Situated 80 km deep into the world’s second-largest fjord system, you will find Kiattua.

With comforts as hot showers, private toilets, hot tub, sauna, chef-prepared meals, and cool soft adventures, nothing in the Arctic wilderness is comparable. As a part of the stay, you will find a wide range of experiences that you can enjoy with your private host.

After an exciting day, be sure to enjoy some muscle therapy in our outdoor mineral-rich hot tub which provides the perfect warm spot to enjoy the breath-taking, icy landscape fully.

Greenland is widely considered one of the best destinations in the world to see the northern lights – in part because it has one of the longest possible windows to see the aurora! From mid-August until we pack down the camp on the 10th of September, you have great chances of spotting the North light’s in Kiattua.

Wake up to the sound of icebergs cracking into smaller pieces in one of the five sleeping tepees.

Kiattus is situated close to icefiord and therefor the view often includes countless icebergs that originate from the Narsap Sermia Glacier. The ice in the Nuuk region is characterized by its blue color and many shapes. The oldest known ice in the current ice sheet is as much as 1,000,000 years old.

The inuits

The Inuits would migrate to their summer camps as soon as the winter loosened its grip on man and nature. The tripe would live in big tipi-like tents while foraging the surroundings. We are honoring this magnificent country by staying true to the old nomadic virtues.
